UofL Students Consider Kentucky Metals Branding
As highlighted in our December newsletter, MI2 had the pleasure last semester of working with a set of University of Louisville students in the university's "Building Powerful Brands" course to take on the challenge of looking at the brand of Kentucky's metals industry and on MI2's early efforts to elevate that brand's story.
In January, the course's professor, Henrietta Pepper, provided MI2 with the final reports and presentations from the two student groups who learned about building brands through the example of the Kentucky metals industry.
As part of the work, the students provided a full analysis and audit of their understanding of the Metals Innovation Initiative in particular and the Kentucky metals industry more generally, utilizing methods like a brand audit, SWOT analysis, and a look at existing methods of telling the story of Kentucky's metals industry from MI2 and elsewhere

MI2 COO Summer Goldman and metals industry leaders came together to provide feedback to students' ideas in late November, which helped shape the students' final papers and presentations. Find more about those presentations from our December newsletter.
We are thankful to Prof. Pepper and the UofL team for collaborating with us, to the students for bringing their creative energies to using the Kentucky metals industry as their opportunity to learn about how to build a powerful brand, and to our member companies for providing students with feedback on this journey.
