1/30-1/31: MI2 Talking Careers with Young Kentuckians in Louisville

MI2 will be taking part in the Junior Achievement of Kentuckiana JA Inspire event on Thursday, January 30th, and Friday, January 31st, at the Kentucky Expo Center in Louisville. During the two days, an estimated 6,500 eighth graders, high schoolers, and post-high school young adults will be coming through to learn about career pathway opportunities. MI2 staff will be on hand to talk to these young people about career opportunities in the metals manufacturing industry.

2/11: MI2 Webinar on "Presidential Actions Unpacked: What Kentucky Metals Companies Need to Know"

On February 11, MI2 is partnering with Ankura to deliver an impactful webinar focused on the implications of recent Presidential Actions on federal funding policies. This session is designed to help Kentucky’s metals and advanced manufacturing companies understand and adapt to these changes. More information here.

2/13: MI2 Co-Hosting the Kentucky Industry Legislative Reception with KAM

MI2 is excited to announce our partnership with the Kentucky Association of Manufacturers (KAM) and other key organizations to co-host the Kentucky Industry Legislative Reception. This event will take place on Thursday, February 13th, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. EST, at the Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History (100 W Broadway Street, Frankfort). This reception follows the 2025 Manufacturers Day at the Capitol, showcasing the industry’s impact. Stakeholders are invited to attend or sponsor the event to support Kentucky’s manufacturing future! 2/17: MI2 Partners with Kentucky Chamber Foundation on Educator's Guide to Manufacturing at Logan Aluminum

MI2's team will be at Logan Aluminum for the Educator's Guide to Manufacturing, hosted in partnership with the Kentucky Chamber Foundation, on February 17th. This event for educators will ensure they understand pathways to success in the manufacturing industry, featuring insights from MI2 leaders, as well as industry leaders from Kobe, Logan, Novelis, and more. Attendees will also gain valuable perspectives from a panel discussion with these companies. Don't miss this opportunity to connect education and industry!

2/20: MI2 Webinar on "Clean Energy Solutions for Kentucky Metals: Insights from MI2 and ALL4"

This webinar will feature a collaboration between MI2 and ALL4, Inc., diving into the potential of clean energy solutions for Kentucky’s metals industry. ALL4 created a framework to increase the supply of clean energy available to Kentucky’s metals manufacturers by 10% over the next five years. This initiative underscores the strategic importance of clean energy in meeting industry and market needs in the region. More here.

2/25: MI2 Participating in IdeaFestival Bowling Green

MI2 is excited to participate in the IdeaFestival Bowling Green in February, which will bring 800-900 middle and high school students to the campus of Western Kentucky University to be inspired as they think about potential career pathways. MI2 staff will share information about career pathways in the metals manufacturing industry with these young people. The event is hosted by The Center for Gifted Studies at Western Kentucky University and draws students from across the state. MI2 looks forward to showcasing the opportunities within Kentucky’s metals industry, inspiring students who are exploring career pathways and planning their futures.
