Leland Lorentzen's outstanding career in the aluminum manufacturing industry has garnered him immense respect and recognition. Now, as he joins the Metals Innovation Initiative team as our Chief Financial Officer, we eagerly anticipate the remarkable contributions he will make.Leland, born and raised on an Iowa farm, developed a strong work ethic and passion for innovation. After obtaining a Mechanical Engineering degree from Iowa State University and an MBA from Saint Ambrose University, Leland embarked on a successful career. He played key roles in companies such as Arconic's Davenport Works and Nichols Aluminum, steadily progressing and demonstrating his technical expertise and business acumen.In 2004, Leland's pivotal role in a private equity takeover of Golden Aluminum Incorporated propelled the company to new heights. As CEO and CFO, Leland led Golden Aluminum to become a leading innovator in aluminum sheet products for packaging solutions. Under his guidance, the company achieved remarkable returns, exceeding a 70% IRR for investors.Beyond his professional achievements, Leland served as an active board member of the Colorado Chamber of Commerce, where his dedication and insights led to a prominent leadership role. Leland's commitment to the business community drove economic growth and advanced progressive policies.Recently returning to his hometown of Muscatine, Iowa, Leland joins the Metals Innovation Initiative's team, bringing his wealth of knowledge and experience as CFO. His relentless pursuit of excellence and ability to foster innovation align perfectly with the Initiative's mission to drive breakthrough advancements in the metals industry.
