On the Horizon

In addition to the regular meetings of MI2 strategy groups, project teams, and strategic partners, here are a few special events coming up on the April calendar around here:

• The University of Kentucky's UK Innovate will host the Kentucky Innovator Challenge on Tuesday, April 11th. At the event, MI2 board chair Matt Bedingfield (Wieland) and board member Mike Buckentin (Logan Aluminum) will share with attendees what the Metals Innovation Initiative is and throw out a challenge to Kentucky's innovation community. MI2 will be joined at the event by a host of Kentucky companies highlighting opportunities for innovation in their respective fields. Registration is still available here.
• On Thursday, April 13th, Canopy will host its third annual Good Business Summit in Louisville. The event will feature speakers, breakout sessions, networking, and the first annual Canopy Impact Awards, where multiple MI2 member companies will be honored. Register here.
• MI2 CEO Vijay Kamineni will be speaking to the Elizabethtown-Hardin County Industrial Foundation at a luncheon on Thursday, April 20th, at the Industrial Foundation's offices. This luncheon will provide a chance to present MI2 to area plant managers and other business leaders in the greater E'town area..
