MI2 Attends Department of Energy’s Community Energy Innovation Summit

In December, the Metals Innovation Initiative (MI2) team stepped into the spotlight at the Department of Energy’s Community Energy Innovation (CEI) Summit in Chicago, IL. MI2's COO, Summer Goldman, and Grants and Funding Consultant,Ruthie Caldwell, had the honor of sharing MI2's transformative project to support the metals industry and coal communities.

The Community Energy Innovation Summit was not only an opportunity to celebrate MI2's accomplishments but also a learning experience that underscored the importance of collaboration, resilience, and passion in driving change. 

At the summit, MI2 connected with other CEI teams, participating in workshops and discussions focused on how to reliably incorporate a greater range of energy solutions while considering the impact these shifts have to communities built around longstanding energy production methods. Their contributions underscore the importance of partnerships and shared learning in achieving collective goals.

MI2 was inspired by the work completed by all their fellow PROGRESS Phase winners and extend congratulations to each team.
