Introducing MI2's Newest Board Member: Jessie Schook

We are thrilled to announce the newest addition to MI2's Board, Jessie Schook, a leader in workforce and economic development. As our newest ex officio board member, Jessie brings a wealth of experience and a passion for education that will undoubtedly enhance our mission and vision.
As the Vice President of Workforce and Economic Development at the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS), Jessie is at the forefront of building partnerships with industry stakeholders and other state partners. Her primary focus is on developing and enhancing innovative workforce initiatives that improve the employment success of both graduates and current students.
Prior to her current role, Jessie served as the Associate Vice President of Workforce and Economic Development and the Executive Director of Workforce Solutions at KCTCS. In these positions, she supported the 16 KCTCS colleges in delivering customized training programs and rapid response initiatives. Her efforts have been instrumental in ensuring that the colleges can meet the ever-evolving needs of the workforce.
Jessie's career also includes a significant tenure at Greater Louisville Inc., the Louisville Metro Chamber of Commerce, where she was the Director of Education and Workforce Connectivity. Her 15-year career spans various facets of education and workforce development, including classroom instruction, curriculum design, and the creation of work readiness programs.
Jessie's academic achievements are equally impressive. She holds Bachelor’s degrees in English and Spanish from the University of Kentucky and a Master’s in Hispanic Studies from New York University. She is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Louisville, with her research focused on demonstrating the return on investment in public-private partnerships. This research aims to benefit a wide range of stakeholders, including employers, learners, and educational institutions.
Jessie is a staunch advocate for education, believing that collaboration between employers and educators helps students discover their passions and gain valuable experience, ultimately leading to a more competitive workforce. Her dedication and expertise will be invaluable to our board as we continue to strive for excellence in our initiatives.
