MI2 Participating in the 2024 SCK LAUNCH Experience in South Central Kentucky

MI2 remains committed to cultivating the next generation of talent in the metals industry by participating in this year’s SCK LAUNCH Experience, taking place later this month. Kentucky's metals industry believes that early exposure to potential future career pathways in the metals industry and an understanding of the advanced technological skills and diverse aptitudes needed in the industry is crucial for attracting the talent needed in various types of roles in the industry as the jobs in this sector continue to grow.

MI2 will engage with more than 3,400 students from 14 school districts and 27 schools during this two-day event.

The SCK LAUNCH Experience is one of several programs organized under SCK LAUNCH, which stands for "South Central Kentucky Learning About Unique and New Careers Here." SCK LAUNCH was organized by the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce. Learn more about its history here.

This year’s SCK LAUNCH Experience offers a unique opportunity for students to gain valuable insights and hands-on experience within the metals sector. As part of MI2’s broader mission to foster workforce development and drive innovation, the event will allow MI2 to interact with aspiring students eager to explore the diverse opportunities available in the metals industry.

MI2’s participation will focus not only on introducing students to the metals industry and to talk about career pathways into the industry. The event, designed to provide early exposure to career pathways as students prepare for their high school years, provides a good opportunity for MI2 plays to help students and educators learn more about what's possible in this robust and growing economic sector. By actively engaging students during this formative time, MI2 aims to inspire and guide them toward rewarding careers in the metals industry.
