Tri-Arrows Aluminum is proud to be one of the founding members of Mi2. TAA aims to create value and growth through partnerships that are forward thinking. Mi2 allows us to be among those leading the path forward, bringing companies, universities, and government entities together to drive the growth of metals – especially aluminum – in Kentucky.

Mi2’s initiatives align with TAA’s approach to our business:

Sustainability

Recycling aluminum is at the heart of our business. The Kentucky metals industry processes more than one billion pounds of used beverage cans annually, despite the state being in the bottom quartile for the US in beverage can recycling. TAA actively seeks to increase recycling rates within Kentucky. In addition, TAA strives for a lower carbon footprint within our company and in collaboration with others across the industry.

Talent and Workforce

TAA’s people are our greatest asset. Maintaining a top tier workforce is vital to our success, particularly where sustainable innovation is concerned. Mi2 provides a chance to partner with universities and the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development, discovering and developing top talent as the industry advances.

Branding

Approximately 50% of North America’s aluminum beverage can sheet production happens in Kentucky. The industry employs over 20,000 Kentuckians and creates more than $3 billion in GDP annually – but this impact is widely unknown within the state. Participating in Mi2 brings visibility to TAA as leaders in employment, manufacturing and sustainability advancements.

Grants and Funding

TAA fosters a culture of continuous learning. Collaborative R&D efforts drive innovation and are a core part of our partnerships with Logan Aluminum, Japan, and SECAT. Being a founding member of Mi2 allows us to engage with other industry leaders on sustainability, technology and legislation surrounding aluminum growth.

Mi2 allows TAA to network and participate in industry efforts to position Kentucky as a preferred destination for the aluminum industry. Maintaining a leadership position in the eyes of our community allows TAA to further our strategy to be a supplier of choice, an employer of choice, and the investment of choice.
